A Unique Inclusive Cultural Festival “ABHINNA” Organized by PUNARBASA on 7th January, 2026

“ABHINNA”
A unique inclusive cultural festival, “ABHINNA”, was organized by PUNARBASA Rehabilitation Institute at Amar Udyan Mandap, Madhapur, on 7th January, 2026. PUNARBASA is an organization working for therapy services, disability rights, awareness, and the empowerment of differently abled people in the district.
In this special festival, differently abled children along with their guardians participated in various friendly competitions such as dance, musical chairs, and other cultural activities. Mothers of differently abled children also enthusiastically took part in competitions like running, dhagadamali, and blindfold activities.

The founder of the Rehabilitation Institute, Dr. Biraja Routray, said that the idea behind organizing a cultural festival like “ABHINNA” was to bring joy, inclusiveness, diversity, and enthusiasm into everyday life.
More than 30 differently abled children from different parts of Kendrapara district, along with their parents, participated in the programme.
Among the distinguished guests present on the occasion were District Social Security Officer Sangram Keshari Behura, District Cultural Officer Tribhuvan Jaisingh, and eminent writer and researcher Golak Bihari Singh. They distributed prizes and awards to the Divyang children and their mothers for their achievements and participation.
The competitions and cultural programmes were conducted by the staff members of the rehabilitation centre, including Gunjansmita Behera, Kirti Dash, Saishrita Mekap, Soumya Ranjan Das, Sanjib Kumar Jena, Rajendra Mohapatra, Kedarnath Barik, Dharanidhar Sethi, Shivani Priyadarshini Bhola, Mihir Ranjan Barik, Ranjan Kumar Swain, and Parvata Kumar Samal.
On this occasion, members of the centre including Mohammad Zahid Khan, Jyoti Ranjan Nayak, Seshadeb Prasad Das, Sanjay Kumar Jena, and Khirod Kar were also present and encouraged the Divyang children.
